How he knew we love potatoes in this house almost as much of cheese, I don\u2019t know, but Modesta Pristine\u2019s recipe delivered deliciousness in spades, spuds and curds.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a classic Neapolitan dish\u2014<em>Il<\/em> <em>Gatt\u00f2 di Patate<\/em> in Italian\u2014that Mrs. Pristine makes on special occasions, such as when relatives visit from Italy.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-6548\" src=\"https:\/\/cheeselover.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/patate-ingredients-1024x694.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"451\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cheeselover.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/patate-ingredients-1024x694.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cheeselover.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/patate-ingredients-300x203.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cheeselover.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/patate-ingredients-768x520.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cheeselover.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/patate-ingredients-1536x1041.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/cheeselover.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/patate-ingredients-2048x1388.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/cheeselover.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/patate-ingredients-665x451.jpg 665w, https:\/\/cheeselover.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/patate-ingredients-384x260.jpg 384w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The recipe calls for Ragusano, Mozzarella, Salami Cacciatore and Yukon Golds, in addition to milk, eggs, unsalted butter, nutmeg, sea salt, ground pepper and fine breadcrumbs. We substituted Parmigiano-Reggiano for the Ragusano, an Italian PDO-protected <em>cheese<\/em> made exclusively in provinces of Ragusa and Siracusa, Sicily.
