Revelstoke in B.C.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Another successful <a href=\"http:\/\/cheesefestival.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Great Canadian Cheese Festival<\/a> is behind us and it&#8217;s time to start planning another road trip\u2014in search of cheese and other delights.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Last summer, an elegant <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gm.ca\/gm\/english\/vehicles\/buick\/verano\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Buick Verano Turbo<\/a> served as the cheesemobile as we hunted for the <a title=\"A cheese lover\u2019s tour of B.C. creameries set to start\" href=\"http:\/\/cheeseloverca.wordpress.com\/2013\/07\/24\/a-cheese-lovers-tour-of-b-c-creameries-set-to-start\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">best in cheese in British Columbia<\/a> and researched venues for a <a title=\"Searching for The Great Canadian Cheese Festival WEST\" href=\"http:\/\/cheeseloverca.wordpress.com\/2013\/08\/01\/searching-for-the-great-canadian-cheese-festival-west\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">future Great Canadian Cheese Festival West.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This summer, the general plan is to head into Qu\u00e9bec and eventually circumnavigate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tourisme-gaspesie.com\/en\/accueil.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iconic <em>Gasp\u00e9sie<\/em><\/a> to satiate our second love\u2014fresh seafood. Of course, a visit to the region&#8217;s sole cheesemaker, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fromageriedulittoral.com\/accueil.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fromagerie du Littoral<\/a>, will be on the itinerary.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the travel plan that&#8217;s taking shape:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Initial destination: Ste Elisabeth de Warwick two hours east of Montreal.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lanouvelle.net\/Actualites\/2014-06-18\/article-3768012\/Le-Festival-des-fromagers-artisans-du-Quebec-sinvite-a-la-Fromagerie-du-Presbytere\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Festival Des Fromagers Artisans du Qu\u00e9bec<\/a> held this year at <a href=\"http:\/\/fromageriedupresbytere.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fromagerie du Presybyt\u00e8re<\/a>. The annual festival travels from cheesemaker to cheesemaker and attracts upwards of 10,000 cheese enthusiasts.<\/li>\n<li>Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.st-benoit-du-lac.com\/fromages\/fromagerie.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fromagerie Abbaye deSaint-Beno\u00eet-du-Lac<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fromagerielastation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fromage de La Station<\/a> in Eastern Townships.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fromageriefxpichet.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fromagerie FX Pichet<\/a> in Sainte-Anne-de-la-P\u00e9rade. home of Le Baluchon, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheeseawards.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian Cheese of the Year<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Grand tour of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tourisme-gaspesie.com\/en\/accueil.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gasp\u00e9sie<\/a>, some 1,200 km in all, searching for the freshest seafood and other culinary delights during 10 days along the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River and into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. Breathtaking panoramas and tasty maritime cuisine await.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fromagerieledetour.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fromagerie le D\u00e9tour<\/a> in T\u00e9miscouata-sur-le-Lac, home of Magie de Madawaska, a wonderful soft cheese worth driving many days for.<\/li>\n<li>Overnight visit to<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fromagesileauxgrues.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Isle aux Grues<\/a> in the middle of the St. Lawrence River east of Quebec City from whence comes Riopelle, one of Canada&#8217;s iconic cheeses, named after Jean-Paul Riopelle, a larger-than-life painter and sculptor who spent his summers on Isle aux Grues and died there.<\/li>\n<li>Return home to Ontario with coolers full of goodies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More, as it develops.<\/p>\n<p>If you have recommendations for must-make-stops along the proposed route, we&#8217;d love to hear them.
